Welcome.glad you are here. This was one of GE's bright ideas that captured an industry. Many Millions were specified by Engineers all over the world. It was simply the right tool at the right time: A latching relay to control lighting and small motors,requiring only a pulse,or momentary contact giving it 24 volts for a few milliseconds to set it and then another to reset it.
