Antique goodbrand brass yarn tester hank winder c.1920S
Antique brass yarn tester/hank winder made by Goodbrand & Co. in Manchester, England around the 1920s. The base appears to be solid mahogany. The dimensions are 28' long, 17" wide and 25" tall. The yarn to be tested was wound onto the winder. The bell rang when the yarn on the winder reached the length desired. The weight/length was tested against a standard to judge the quality. The device is in good condition. The bell may have been replaced.
