These items are expensive, rugged, long life, Aerovox brand, metalized polypropylene film, "Motor Run" type capacitors, 46uF 580VDC, designed for 50 - 60 Hz operation.
Here is a link that describes this type of capacitor in detail (the GE brand).
Though they appear to be new, they are actually used, having been carefully removed from functional industrial equipment. They have been tested and found to be good.
Note for experimenters: All twenty-four of these capacitors, when connected in series, create a 1.92uF 13.9KV capacitor.
